You took me to an antique
shop, lingering over the rotary
phones and black-and-white
televisions of your childhood.
Your finger traced the curvature
of the receiver; my cell phone
was a brick in my hand.

my grandmother had a rotary phone. solid black, no frills. Made of military grade steel and weighed about the equivilant of a small block chevy engine. It did exactly two things. It made phone calls and it recieved phone calls. We tried to update if for her with a "new" push button model back in the early 90's. Bad idea. She ended up running us out of the house with her walking cane. lol.
