Literature Text
Three little birds pitch on my doorstep.
I keep them in a jar
because
nothing I have is truly mine.
I am only the lonely,
waiting for it to come back to me.
I keep them in a jar
because
nothing I have is truly mine.
I am only the lonely,
waiting for it to come back to me.
Literature
love is coming home--
i don't write about God.
i don't write about God because it's writing about love, it's writing about faith, it's writing about trust and hope and belief and pain, the kind of gut-wrenching betrayal you feel when you've given up and you're waiting for someone to save you, only nobody ever does.
and who else are you going to blame?
it's easy to write about a God you don't believe in. it's easy to pour out all your hate and anger and hurt and deepest, darkest broken fears and fling them from your fingertips and scream, this is not God! it's easy to believe in nothing.
it's not easy to believe.
believing is opening yourself to the pain. it's

Loving Australia
Years like bilbies--
days like kangaroos.
Want lives in a pocket womb
(salt suckle; scrape
of your grey-brown curls.)
Heart-split
by hemispheres
(birdsong way
you shape your words.)
Sleep
dredged in red dust,
sprawled across half a world,
night-lit
by wrong stars.

in my near-nineteen years of life i have never wanted something, someone so much.
[no, i swear, not even death itself]

waking up without you hurts.
even though you don't have one, i slept with my webcam on last night so maybe you could catch a glimpse of me sleeping.
you say i shiver in dreamland, and i tell you that's because i hardly dream --there is nothing in my mind then but grey matter and cold air, because even with the heat blasting at seventy and four fleece blankets, i have trouble making my own warmth.
you told me that even so, i was smiling. and i said that though i don't remember, the only explanation would be that

NEW PROJECT.
One of my favorite things in the creative process is coming up with a title. A quick browse of dA proves I'm not the only one - people come up with some strange and often beautiful titles for their work. Thus, my new project is born: each line of this poem is the title of a work I found here on deviantART. A type of Found Poetry, but with some community mindedness
RULES
1. Each line must be the title of a work found somewhere on deviantART. Any type of art goes.
2. Minor modification is allowed (adding small words such as and, or, but, with, I, you/ changing the tense (keep to kept, wait to waiting).
3. BUT, you can't just remove/insert a word altogether.
4. A single line can only be modified once.
5. Modification of punctuation and/or capitalization doesn't count.
6. YOU MUST LINK ALL THE PIECES USED
7. And please notify the artists that you have used their titles
8. Your own title must either be of another dA piece OR a title someone else could use for their own found poem. The stranger the better.
