EDIT - I forgot how much more I enjoy critiquing when I'm writing it on actual paper :D I'm upping the number to at least 20 requests. The first five are already done and ready to be mailed (though one will have to wait until I get around to making their bookmark contest prize to send with the critique letter :XD:). So send those requests in! I'm eager to print your work and take my literal red pen to it (I don't write in red ink, so I guess I actually mean my literal pen, not red pen, but you know).

My apologies for the recent journal absence - I've been preoccupied with DailyLitRecognition and real life for the past week. An actual, proper journal will be forthcoming this weekend :)

Speaking of DLR, we will be looking to fill some positions soon; here at the month-long point, the current team is settling into their roles, while others are departing as they realize it isn't something they can or wish to devote so much time too. Gotta have priorities, and everyone's are different :D

If anyone out there is interested in helping out, particularly as part of the New Artist Highlight team or the Literary Panel, feel free to contact me! Or wait until the official DLR announcement; that works too. Just wanted to give everyone out there a heads up, and more details will be posted later.

In the meantime, I felt like doing a little something for friends and watchers, since I've neither written or commented a whole lot of late. So I have another one of my little projects for you all:

At least ten people (maybe more) that comment on this journal with a piece they would like critique on will get it. I will note you asking for your address if I don't already have it; each of the selected pieces will be printed out and I will handwrite a critique for you and mail it off. I've always found writing directly on the page way easier to edit and critique than trying to do it on a screen - I can do it, but it doesn't feel as natural. I feel like I'm WAY more thorough when it's on paper.

The screen does have it's advantages of course, like the ability to transfer information instantly, edit immediately, and turn around for further critique, so I can't say I mind the exchange too much - both versions have good points, but I thought this might be fun :) If it's successful, I'll see about making it a regular occurrence.

By the way, if you do submit something longer, please try to keep it to around three pages or less. I do have to print these out :XD: And don't worry about being international either - I've got that covered.

Until this weekend,

I would like to join the DLR! If you have some time, send me a note!

(in the hopes of receiving a handwritten response to my art...)

I would like to reserve a spot to receive this rare piece of purity. I have a piece in the making within my mind, and I want it immortalized in this manner.
