***EDIT***

I don't usually do this sort of thing, but I'm rather peeved about a situation in the backroom of a group I help Admin for. Perhaps some of you will agree with me, perhaps not, but I just can't let it sit where no one but ourselves can see it.

I won't put anything HERE, but I can put it all on my personal blog  - if you care to see unparalleled levels of douchebaggery, feel free to click away. Shield your sensitive eyes, oh nice people of the world, for words of this caliber were not meant for those such as yourselves.

I don't even know.

Writing

Does anyone else keep a blog ? I've come to enjoy just sitting down and seeing what my online friends are up to off of dA. Not to mention it's a fantastic tool for keeping your writing in practice :D I need more people to read!

I've been trying to get all my story ideas down in one place and it's not working :paranoid: I almost always end up typing up something else altogether. I'll get my head on one day. Maybe I'll even finish some of the contest prompts in the next section before the due dates. TOTALLY forgot to do an entry for the Blind Winter competition.

For those interested, I'm planning a sort of mini-project - kinda like if a book club were Twitter sized :XD: I've already got a few thoughts in mind, but I'd love to know what the general attitude is towards the notion before diving in.

Features!

Featuring a few watchers today :D

I've wanted to feature some of locoland's skies for uite a while :D

Sempiternity by locoland A Pattern Of The Peculiar by locoland In The Middle by locoland Ars moriendi by locoland

I really enjoy the brevity in Quelythe's literary pieces - small, thoughtful little bites

A Man in the RainThe evening is young, still glowing from dusk's display. The raindrops fall slowly. They are plump and full, they are whole as they drift through the thick warm air. They kiss the sidewalk softly, the open petals, the straining leaves. They are generous with their love. They knock politely on windows glowing faintly from an inner light. The rain knows it is merely a passing shower, and each drop falls deliberately, to savour every taste of earth.
A front door opens, and a man emerges. His features are not visible in the dimming blue light. He steps into the evening air, his shoulders hunched. He takes measured steps across damp grass, towards the sidewalk. There he stands: still, save for the sporadic flickering of his fingers. His hands are moths. His mouth moves, but no sound emerges.
He begins to sing. His voice floats below the rain, a low wind that comes not from, but through him. It does not belong to him, this voice. He is the vessel that hold it, pours it out. The man stands in
Seafood PlatterSeafood platter:
our love was contaminated.
Weightless                                    It is
            the brittle snap before
              the plummet, it is
the moment of understanding:
the sky is a solid roof
of warped glass
      and the only way left
                     is down. It is
     watching the streak
of your body
       ahead, the knowledge
that when the earth rises
  to claim it,
       you are a feather

how summer departs  They say you left
        as softly as you came:
          ate the first apple
of the basket, said your goodbyes
in code against the pane and
slipped out in a wake of
                      cinnamon.

Maisykuv has only been deviant a year, but has a lot of potential in the gallery :)

Derby Stones by Maisykuv Can we create today? by Maisykuv Light Me Up by Maisykuv Foggy Morning by Maisykuv

RainingDesperation is another new deviant (five months!), but again, with a gallery full of potential waiting to be tapped :la:

:thumb260759136: :thumb270631863: yellow wallsThis room is a maze
with the wall a smooth plane of yellow
(reminiscent of Easter)
that never sharpens into a visible corner despite the shifts in shadow
it is warm but it is empty
with cracks in the wall and the carpet a flesh floor of greens, browns and blues
and the wall sockets with their blushing faces
it is beautiful but it is bare
chairs waiting to be occupied, a couch that knows no love
and four paintings standing sentinel-lonely on their wall
illuminated by the windowed door
while outside the rain has stopped
(though the sky is still the colour of his eyes when he's alone)
and I sit here within the room
disturbing the stillness with my breath, and the silence with the scratching of a pencil.
It is my birthday, and I can do nought
but sit within this shallow place, this temporary home
(that which is never a constant)
and wonder what will come.

I guess I'm on a new Deviants kick, because flummo is also young yet :XD:

I have to say, he really is one of the more wilder applications we have received. I'm not going to respond to him for the time being so that this does not spark any more flaming.
