Literature Text
I am a tiger:
I camouflage myself in crowds
with fingerless gloves
and white headphones
pumping urban melodies.
I am a tiger:
I don't belong to concrete cities
or country pastures,
but to dark corners
and abandoned ruins.
I am a tiger:
I have stripes on my wrists
and am hunted for sport
by men with fragile egos,
sated by destruction.
I am a tiger,
endangered,
and my stripes have made me strong.
I camouflage myself in crowds
with fingerless gloves
and white headphones
pumping urban melodies.

I don't belong to concrete cities
or country pastures,
but to dark corners
and abandoned ruins.
I am a tiger:

and am hunted for sport
by men with fragile egos,
sated by destruction.
I am a tiger,
endangered,
and my stripes have made me strong.

I Am Eyes
I am eyes, that unholy duality.
Six deer browse in the dead field;
they have survived late fall
with its plague of men and guns.
I am eyes, turned to the pregnant sky.
Pockets for hands, thick wool for feet,
but eyes take the cold head-on.
There is clamor far away. There is cackle and bray.
There is grumble and wine, there is raw meet.
Handed over like suspicion, taken like greed,
like gold from the cocoa-skinned hide-hidden
lesser gods, there disappears my world.
But I know nothing of this. I am sleepy.
I am eyes.
Literature
Serenissima
Slumbering suns
take a midmorning nap;
alleyways bright with
golden ladies,
their smiles canal-deep.
Nightfall brings guides:
stone sighs and dead light,
(never so alive).

I Am....
I Am….
I am a human; I’m not flawless by any stretch of the imagination
I’m a loser, I’m a winner
I’m a right-minded, light soul; but I can also be a dark soul full of condemnation
I’m an expert and a beginner
I’m positive, but can get hit with depression
I’m good, I’m bad; I’m a believer, I’m a sinner
I’m clutch, but sometimes can’t handle tough conditions
I’m worse, but I’m better
I’m healthy, but can sometimes be full of infections
My mind’s weighing me down, but my soul is as light as a feather
I don’t need acceptance, b

Tonight was library night. We all got two words to prompt us: mine were tiger and melody. I took inspiration from this amazing piece: wrists that roar.
I don't usually do poems with repeating lines like this, but I like it a lot.

I do love the repeating lines and the overall voice of the poem, it is very strong and assertive.
